Why is My Website Not Showing in Google When Searching the Exact Domain Name?

There is a misconception out there that if you buy a domain and someone searches that exact term that you will come up first in search engines! It is simply not the case anymore. There are several factors considered when a search engine generates results for a search, domain is only one of them.

What is Needed to Get My Business Website Ranking in Search Engines?

These are the main factors to consider when trying to get your website to rank in search engines. All must be in place for it to work.

  • Google Business Page
  • Social Media Platforms Created with Link
  • Website must have relevant content and headers
  • Multiple pages of content and must regularly be updated
  • Must have SSL certificate https not http
  • Responsive (Viewable on ALL devices properly)
  • Request any duplicate Google Businesses accounts be deleted

Now Advanced SEO Strategies

Above are only the basics, the foundation if you will. These things need to be in place in order to really start working in your SEO strategies. Here are some other basic strategies you should try and implement for improved SEO once those foundational things are in place.

  • Do not use dates in your URL address
  • Always enter focused keywords for page on alternative text of images
  • Ensure your website loads fast. How to do this is a whole other topic
  • Your businesses website footer should always have the follow: Business name, Address, Phone# and Hours of operation along with social icons linking to those specific account pages.
  • Engagement on social platforms help increase social signature, always make social posts linking to specific pages on website
  • Google Business Posts – Make at least 3 per week because after 7 – 10 days they disappear from public view in search results page.
  • Use multiple title tags on your pages that support and parallel the main topic/title. H1, H2, H3 header tags are very important.
  • If you use video then make sure to start a YouTube channel in the businesses name and embed from there on website. Google owns YouTube and this will help the overall online presence and SEO
  • Make landing pages for specific service areas. These pages do not need to be linked to from the main site, they are simply created with the town or area name you want to target. Even use competitive brands and names in the content to pull traffic from those search terms.
